An itinerary to discover the art of the Andalusian painter and other traveling artists landed on the shores of Salerno

On display are 49 works by Picasso, including engravings, lithographs, and ceramics which are connected to other 60 paintings, graphics, and ceramics by 27 important "traveling" Italian and foreigner artists who also landed on the Salerno coast. To accompany the exhibition, a program of events with themed shows for audiences of all ages, from artistic and expressive workshops to encourage even the youngest to discover the poetics of the avant-garde movement, to dramatized guided tours to introduce visitors in the most recondite stories of the works.

Among the 49 original works by Pablo Picasso, worth mentioning the thirty-one engravings, acquaforte and aquatint with sugar, of the Histoire Naturelle of Buffon (1942) and five large color lithographs of the Barcelona Suite (1966), perfect synthesis of the artist’s early years. On display, also three rare etchings belonging to the famous Suite 347, one of Picasso’s most extraordinary feats during his older years: three hundred engravings made in 1968, at almost 87 years old.

Until 18 June. Monday to Friday from 9am to 1.30pm and from 4pm to 8pm; Saturday, Sunday, and holidays from 10am to 1.30pm and from 4.30pm to 9pm.
